Some people are real wine snobs and know exactly what they are looking for, and don’t settle for anything less.  It doesn’t seem to bother them how expensive the bottle is, even if it costs over a hundred pounds.

Some might choose their bottle of wine by the packaging and colour of it.   I will admit that some wines do come neatly packaged, but I certainly wouldn’t choose one over another just because of the look of the bottle.

Some folks don’t drink red wine because it gives them a stinking headache the following morning.   Maybe this could be because they might just have drunk too much of it!!

I can’t drink white or rose wine, unless it happens to be fizzy.   A favourite Spanish Wine that fits into this category is the classic Cava. I love a nice glass of Cava, infact I actually prefer it to Champagne.   If you can get your hands on a decent bottle of Vintage Cava then you really can’t go wrong. In our home it’s always a favourite drink when we are having a bit of a family celebration.

I also enjoy the odd glass of red wine.   Unusually though I love my red wine served chilled and the colder the better. I can hear wine snobs all around the world yelling that you can’t possibly drink red wine if it has been chilled, but that’s what I like to do and it is my choice.   A good example of a nice bottle of red is a Cabernet Sauvignon.  This is a beautiful Chilean Wine that tastes superb.

I will say that I am not particularly fond of French Wine. I think it’s due to the fact that I’m not keen on the French full stop, so I tend not to buy their wine!!

Fruit baskets can be personalized for the special person that you are giving it to. They are usually filled with an array of fruits which can be picked specifically for the recipient or filled with a random assortment of fruit. They are usually made with ribbons and bows that can also be customized.

First, water is called the universal solvent and most of the body’s chemical reactions take place in solution. Second, water allows blood to flow through the blood vessels. Water keeps blood fluid. Third, water has a great heat capacity and this allows it to both store heat when we are cold, and lose heat through evaporation when we are not. The sweating also rids the body of impurities.

Though we need water, we are also constantly losing it. The body loses water three ways. First, we lose water when we pass urine. The kidneys process 45 to 50 gallons of fluid a day and, though most of it is retained, the kidneys produce more than a quart of urine daily. Since urine is mostly water (95%), we must replace this lost liquid. The other two ways the body loses water are by perspiration and defecation.

We repeat, this lose means water must be replaced. On average a person should drink two quarts or eight to ten glasses of water each day. If we don’t replace the water we lose, we will suffer the effects of dehydration. It is estimated that up to 75% of Americans are dehydrated. If not treated properly, dehydration can be fatal.

A person can become dehydrated because of diarrhea and/or vomiting. During such times we may not be able to keep anything down. However, as soon as you can, ingest liquids to replace the loss. Often the young and old are most vulnerable to dehydration. The old are included because they lose the sense of thirst they had when they were younger. If a person loses more than 1% of body weight in liquids, it is considered to be severe dehydration.

How would you know if you were dehydrated? First, dehydration is often accompanied with only small amounts of dark urine. A dehydrated person might also have a raised body temperature for no evident reason. Other symptoms include fatigue, nausea, extreme thirst, headaches, and confusion. A person may also have a lack of tears or sunken eyes.

If you suspect you are dehydrated, try this simple test. Pinch your skin on the arm, leg, or belly, then let go. If you are dehydrated, the skin will be slow to return to its normal position. If in doubt, drink a glass of water. Sufficient pure water also benefits people because such rarely develop kidney stones.

Severe dehydration might be evidenced by low blood pressure, loss of consciousness, severe cramping of the arms, legs, stomach, and back, convulsions, heart failure, sunken eyes, inelasticity of the skin, and deep, rapid breathing. In such cases, not only the water needs to be replaced, but also the salt and glucose.

Of course, it is important to drink healthy water. Make sure it is pure and don’t necessarily trust the faucet. In conclusion, keep yourself healthy by drinking the proper amount of liquids each day. You will be much healthier if you religiously drink two quarts a day.
