Junk Food V.S Salad

This is a question that has been asked many, many times and there are in fact several reasons for it.

Taste

Taste is a very important reason and quite often a nice juicy pizza will taste a lot better than a salad with a jacket potato. This is what helps to make people addicted to many of the things. The reasons salads do not bring in millions of dollars a year is because they have nothing in them that makes them worth being addicted too. These are a lot better for you and come without all of the oils and fats inside which is the thing that people start to get addicted to.

Sound

Some decent dish names need to be made for the salads as they sound very poor compared to the bacon fries or double bacon and mushroom cheeseburger. This is actually due to the fact that junk food has become so popular, if it was the other way around then it would be the salad that comes out sounding the best option to have.

Look

The thing is, a salad looks very colourful and appealing but you know that 9 times out of 10 that it isnt which is why a burger comes out on top. The media are once again to blame for this as advertisements were once rich with junk food ideas. Of course nowadays the big companies are trying to push salads into peoples faces rather than the junk food.

Smell

Another problem is that fast food is easily recognised by the nose, Mcdonalds, KFC and Taco Bell are easily recognised by the nose a mile off, salad on the other hand, I dont think so. However there are some fantastic healthy dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese and Fish that smell simply wonderful

Is it a good thing that our senses are so involved with what we eat, would we like to ear healthier things or not. Junk food is fine to have in moderation so why not go out to an Indian restaurant.
